Enterprise-grade IT, run from up the road.

DyCom Group Queensland looks after the technology behind businesses across South East Queensland — from our Moreton Bay base out to Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast — computers, phones, mobile, cloud, security, automation, websites and content, from one supplier whose line is still answered after five.

Local, not a call centre

We work in the region, not from a capital-city tower or an offshore queue. When a problem needs hands on it, someone gets in the car — you're not booked in for next Thursday.

After hours, by default

Few businesses can afford to lose a trading day to a server rebuild or a phone cutover. Disruptive work is scheduled evenings and weekends, and support extends well past 5pm.

One supplier, whole stack

Computers, phones, internet, cloud, security and building automation under a single agreement; no triangulating between three vendors while none of them owns the fault.

What we do, in detail

Take the lot, or just the parts you need

Managed IT & Helpdesk

Your IT department on a fixed monthly fee. We monitor the fleet, patch it, answer the phone when it misbehaves, and keep a written record of what you own and when it needs replacing.

  • Unlimited remote helpdesk during covered hours
  • On-site attendance across the local area
  • 24/7 monitoring and alerting on endpoints and servers
  • Operating system and third-party patching
  • New starter and leaver onboarding, done properly
  • Asset register with warranty and replacement dates
  • Hardware and licence procurement
  • Vendor liaison — we argue with your line-of-business software provider so you don't
  • Monthly reporting on tickets, patch status and open risks
  • Documented environment, handed over if you ever leave

Microsoft 365 & Cloud

Most businesses pay for a platform they use a fraction of, configured the way the last person left it. We tidy the tenancy, harden it, and make the collaboration tools navigable.

  • Tenancy migrations and consolidations
  • Entra ID, conditional access and device compliance
  • Intune deployment and policy management
  • SharePoint and Teams structure people can actually use
  • Exchange Online, shared mailboxes and mail flow rules
  • Hosted servers and virtual desktops where they still make sense
  • Azure subscriptions, sized and monitored for spend
  • Licence review — you would be surprised how many seats belong to people who left
  • Data governance, retention and legal hold
  • OneDrive and file server migration without the mapped-drive chaos

Business Phones & Mobile

We run 3CX as our own phone system, which is why we are comfortable putting it in front of clients. Mobile sits on the same account, so there is one bill and one place to complain.

  • 3CX hosted PBX — design, build, cutover and support
  • Number porting, including messy multi-carrier estates
  • Call queues, ring groups and IVR menus that route sensibly
  • Softphones and mobile apps so the desk phone stops mattering
  • Call recording, transcription and queue reporting
  • AI call handling for after-hours and overflow, escalating when it should
  • SIP trunks and DID management
  • Handset supply, provisioning and replacement
  • CommsMobile business mobile plans with pooled data
  • eSIM activation, smartwatch plans and travel packs

Cyber Security & Compliance

Antivirus and a password policy stopped being enough some years ago. This is the layer insurers and tender panels now ask about in writing, and the one most small businesses cannot evidence.

  • Application allow-listing — nothing runs unless it is approved
  • MFA and conditional access on every account, including the awkward ones
  • Endpoint detection and response, monitored rather than installed and forgotten
  • Mail filtering, impersonation protection and link rewriting
  • Staff phishing simulation and training, with results you can show a board
  • Essential Eight maturity assessment and uplift roadmap
  • Privileged access review and admin account separation
  • Cyber insurance questionnaire support — the honest version
  • Dark web and credential exposure monitoring
  • Incident response planning, and help on the day if it happens

Backup & Disaster Recovery

A backup nobody has restored from is a hypothesis, not a backup. We test ours, and we write down how long a real recovery would take before you need to know.

  • Local appliance plus offsite replication
  • Microsoft 365 backup — Microsoft does not do this for you
  • Scheduled test restores, with evidence
  • Documented recovery time and recovery point objectives
  • Immutable and air-gapped copies to survive ransomware
  • Virtual server standby and failover
  • Business continuity planning, including the flood scenario
  • Ransomware recovery and incident coordination
  • Retention aligned to what your industry actually requires
  • Annual full restore rehearsal for managed clients

Networks, Wi-Fi & Cabling

Wi-Fi problems are usually design problems. We survey the site, put access points where the people are, and cable what should not have been wireless in the first place.

  • Structured cabling, patching and comms room tidy-ups
  • Managed switching with VLAN separation for voice, data and guests
  • Firewalls & UTM — Red Piranha Crystal Eye as our gold standard, with Arista Untangle or open-source (opnsense) as fallbacks — plus VPN and remote access
  • Wi-Fi surveys and access point placement rather than guesswork
  • Point-to-point wireless between sheds, yards and buildings
  • Business internet procurement and management
  • 4G/5G failover that cuts in automatically
  • Guest and BYOD networks isolated from the business
  • CCTV and access control cabling and network integration
  • Site documentation with port maps and IP schedules

The stack we run

Standardised on purpose

We deliberately run a narrow, well-understood set of tools rather than whatever each client happened to inherit. Standardising is what makes fixed pricing possible, and it means any of our technicians can pick up your environment without a week of archaeology. Where you already own something that works, we will support it — we just will not pretend a fleet of one-offs costs the same to run.

Automation that earns its keep

DyCom Automation is the arm of the business that deals with everything past the desktop — the building itself, and the manual work quietly eating hours out of the week. We design and configure; installation is done in partnership with local trades. Where it can be retrofitted onto what you already own, it is.

Building & site automation

  • Lighting, air conditioning and roller doors on schedules that follow trading hours
  • Access control, gates, intercoms and cameras in one interface, on the phone in your pocket
  • Cold room, freezer and pump alarms that ring a person before the stock is written off

Business process automation

  • Joining systems that don't talk — job management, accounting, email, phones, forms
  • Quotes, invoices, timesheets and compliance paperwork that move without re-keying
  • AI phone answering and after-hours triage where call volume justifies it

If you're paying someone to copy figures from one screen into another, that's usually the first thing worth automating — and it generally pays for itself inside a year.

What it costs

All prices ex GST

Most providers in this market will not publish a number, which makes comparing them close to impossible. Here is ours. Managed IT is priced per user per month on a rolling agreement — no three-year lock-in, thirty days' notice either way. Microsoft licensing is billed separately at cost, because folding it into a per-user rate is how providers hide margin.

Essentials

A "user" is a person with a mailbox and at least one device. Shared and kiosk machines are billed as devices instead. Microsoft, SentinelOne, Huntress, ThreatLocker, N-able (N-central, Cove, Passportal & Mail Assure) and Datto licensing is passed through at cost and itemised on your invoice.

Aussie Broadband's published standard rates as at July 2026, excluding promotional discounts and subject to change. Every plan includes unlimited data, a free static IP, no lock-in contract and Australian-based support; the Assurance tiers add priority nbn fault restoration and automatic 4G backup on eligible hardware. We handle the order, the router configuration and the fault escalation, so you deal with us rather than a call queue. Availability depends on the nbn technology at your address, which we check before quoting.

Pooled plans are priced on the size and shape of your fleet, which is why there is no single number here — a pool of six behaves very differently to a pool of forty. Send us a recent bill and we will come back with a like-for-like comparison, usually within a business day. Pay-as-you-go roaming is disabled by default across the range, so an overseas trip cannot quietly generate a four-figure bill; travel is handled with prepaid packs activated over SMS. Number porting, eSIM activation and handset setup are included in the changeover.

Questions we get asked

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. Managed agreements run month to month after an initial three-month settling-in period, with thirty days' notice either way. Long lock-ins protect the provider, not you — if the service is good you will not want to leave, and if it is not, a contract should not be the thing keeping you.

What happens to my documentation if I leave?

You get it. Network diagrams, IP schedules, asset registers, licence records and administrative credentials are handed over on exit. Holding a client's environment hostage through poor documentation is common in this industry and we think it is indefensible.

Why is Microsoft licensing billed separately?

Because folding it into a per-user rate makes it impossible to see what you are paying for the service as against the software. We pass licensing through at cost and itemise it, which also means a licence review that saves you money actually shows up on your bill.

We already have an IT person. Can you work alongside them?

Yes, and it is a common arrangement. Internal staff usually handle the day-to-day and the business-specific applications; we provide the tooling, the after-hours cover, the security stack and an escalation path for the things that only come up twice a year.

How quickly can someone actually get here?

Same day for the local area under a managed agreement, and usually within a couple of hours. We are in the region rather than servicing it from Brisbane, which is the whole point.

Can you take over an environment that has been neglected?

Frequently. Onboarding starts with a documented discovery, and where remediation is needed before we can support the environment properly, you get that scoped and priced up front rather than discovering it as a series of surprise invoices.
